Backing Gate (2012)

A concrete-abstract-machine

for performing bodies

Technology is sneaky and duplicitous. It gets under your nails, into your navel and between your toes. Like sand in your socks (or the holes in other people’s socks) it often hides in places not easily seen (and in places from which it is even less easily routed out). And if you do see it, it presents itself as your indispensable butler – an almost invisible yet willing and helpful assistant – a husband, or wife, more useful and endearing than your own.
